Walmart is recalling 850,000 water bottles after two people suffered permanent vision loss trying to open them. Customers reported being hit in the face with the lid when opening the Ozark Trail brand stainless steel bottles.

Carbonated drinks or fermented foods like kombucha, sourdough, kimchi and wine can cause lids to erupt off of an insulated water bottle

The screw-on lids on the Ozark stainless steel water bottles can forcefully eject, posing "serious impact and laceration."
