Local school supply giveaway events are available to offer relief to parents struggling to afford back-to-school shopping.

The Franklin County Commissioners will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21, at Fannett-Metal Elementary School.

The Chicago Cubs face the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a 3-game set at American Family Field in Milwaukee Monday.

Multiple other events are scheduled throughout August, including Bikes and Bands V, the Make-a-Wish Truck Convoy, the Fort Loudon Peach Festival, a Crabfeast, and the Shippensburg Corn Festival.
