North Carolina’s Democratic Gov. Josh Stein vetoed a bill Friday that would get rid of the law requiring permits to carry concealed handguns. The measure now goes back to the Republican-controlled General Assembly, which could hold veto override votes in an attempt to overturn Stein’s move. But right now, they don’t have the votes.
