Harman Dayal of The Athletic put out a list of the top 10 best free agent signings of NHL free agency. At the top of the list is none other than new Vegas Golden Knight Mitch Marner, who signed an eight-year $96 million dollar deal in a sign-and-trade between Vegas and the Maple Leafs.

Mitch Marner, a now-former member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, says he “gave everything I had” in his quest to bring a Stanley Cup to the city.

“You want to be in a place where you want to win,” Marner said. “That’s the whole goal of why we do this, you want to hoist that Stanley Cup. This team has shown that they can do it. I’m lucky enough now to hopefully bring another piece in to help bring it back here.”
