City Comptroller Brad Lander was released from custody late Tuesday after being arrested inside a Manhattan courthouse by ICE agents who claimed he assaulted one of them while trying to observe immigration proceedings amid the Trump administration’s “mass deportation” crackdown.

Brad Lander received widespread support after his arrest on Tuesday, but it’s unclear how it will affect his third-place campaign for mayor of New York City.
