Former UFC star Ben Askren remains on a ventilator in the hospital as he battles a severe case of pneumonia, his wife Amy shared earlier this week on Facebook. Amy first announced in early June that Ben developed “severe pneumonia” and was “unable to respond to anything.”

Former MMA champion Ben Askren remains hospitalized from severe pneumonia and may now require a lung transplant, per his wife Amy, who provided a Facebook update that read in part:

UFC alum Ben Askren is under evaluation for a lung transplant after contracting severe pneumonia, according to his wife, Amy. Askren is currently on a ventilator as doctors continue to evaluate his health.
