The next two weeks mark a pivotal stretch of international golf for the PGA Tour, with back-to-back events taking place overseas. This week, several top names are returning to action at the Genesis Scottish Open in Scotland.

The world No. 1 first traveled to the U.K. for the Scottish Open and says he doesn’t see this week as just a tune-up for the season’s final major.

McIlroy has played this event twice since he became co-sanctioned in 2022, winning in 2023 and finishing T-4 last year. He closed well at the U.S. Open and carried that over into the Travelers Championship where he tied for sixth, so he's gaining some momentum as he regains his focus before next week's Open.
