A New York Mets hero and a two-time World Series winner has passed away at 87 after a long career off the field in baseball and an illness. The former Major Leaguer was integral for the team in the 1960s.

Ron Taylor passed away Monday after a long illness. He won the World Series four times, once pitching for the 1964 St. Louis Cardinals and later for the 1969 NY Mets. then as team physician for the 1992 and 1993 Toronto Blue Jays.
