Released after almost two years of captivity, Edan Alexander, joined by his parents, is scheduled to meet with President Trump and the first lady.

Edan Alexander arrived in his hometown of Tenafly, New Jersey, on June 19. He had been held hostage by Hamas and was released on May 12.

The White House said the president and first lady "greatly look forward" to welcoming Edan Alexander and his family.

Mr. Alexander, who was held for nearly 600 days before being released in May, is a dual citizen of Israel and the United States. He was in the Israeli military when he was abducted on Oct. 7, 2023.

Accompanied by his parents, Adi and Yael, his sister Mika, and his brother Roy, Alexander used the meeting to personally thank President Trump for his pivotal role in securing his release.
