The sky over Winnipeg was among the smokiest in the country Friday morning, prompting warnings from Environment and Climate Change Canada to limit time outdoors.

Environment Canada suggests the city’s air quality will stay at “moderate risk” levels until at least Saturday.

On Monday morning, Environment Canada issued a special air quality statement for the vast majority of southern Ontario, predicting "poor air quality" as a result of forest fires.
