An automatic emergency power generating system might have deployed on the 787 jet that crashed shortly after takeoff in India last week.

Investigators believe the Air India Boeing Dreamliner had its emergency-power generator operating when it crashed last week in India's Ahmedabad, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the probe.

Officials say at least 270 bodies have been recovered, while the lone surviving passenger is still under observation for some of his injuries.
