The brand-new Lego Mindstorms EV3 platform is designed to make it easy for adults and children alike to program robots. The new platform comes with an all-new series of sensors and motors.

On Thursday, Apple announced that, starting June 5, its increasingly popular iPad-based programming app, Swift Playgrounds, can be used to program robots built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3.

Since the programming is preinstalled, you can build the TRACK3R out of the box without connecting the Intelligent Brick EV3 to a computer (which is necessary to program any other robot).

With the new Mindstorms EV3 Programming App, aspiring roboticists can tweak the code that powers their creations wherever they happen to be building them.
