Andrew Cuomo’s lead in the 2025 mayoral race is shrinking, with runner-up candidate Zohran Mamdani cutting the ex-governor’s edge over him nearly in half over the past month, according to a new poll that also found a significant chunk of voters remain undecided.

The Marist survey suggests that Andrew M. Cuomo is still the favorite to win the Democratic primary, but his advantage over Zohran Mamdani is dwindling.

In a ranked-choice simulation, Cuomo wins the eighth and final round with 55 percent to Mamdani’s 45 percent. In Marist’s May poll, Cuomo would go on to win in the sixth round of ranked-choice voting with 60 percent to Mamdani’s 40 percent.
