Some of the Texas Democrats who left the state in protest of a redistricting bill were temporarily evacuated Wednesday from their Chicago-area hotel after a bomb threat, according to police and lawmakers.

On Wednesday, the hotel in Chicago, Illinois, where Texas State Representatives were staying, received a bomb threat and was evacuated, according to Rep. John Bucy.

Members of the Texas House Democratic Caucus were evacuated from a Chicago-area hotel early Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was reported amid lawmakers' continued out-of-state protest against a Republican-led redistricting plan in the Texas Legislature.
