The Vegas Golden Knights are trading for Mitch Marner as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Mitch Marner era in Toronto is officially over. A sign-and-trade sending the hometown winger to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for centre Nicolas Roy was completed on Tuesday, the teams announced.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded forward Mitch Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights for centre Nicolas Roy. Marner, 28, agreed to an eight-year, US$96-million extension with Toronto before the deal.
