An Iranian military leader on Tuesday vowed that Israel would soon see more attacks, warning of an imminent "punitive operation" and telling Tel Aviv and Jaffa residents to evacuate.

The chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has urged people to leave the major Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa. The residents are advised to "leave these areas to save their lives," Abdolrahim Mousavi said on Tuesday,

Israel identified and struck missile launchers in Iran overnight, the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday morning. "Over the past hour, the IAF completed an additional series of strikes on storage and missile launch infrastructure sties in western Iran," the IDF said in an update on the Telegram messaging app at about 8 a.m. in Israel.

Israeli warplanes pounded Iran's capital overnight and into Wednesday, hitting a facility used to make uranium centrifuges and another that made missile components, the Israeli military said.

Israel appeared to be expanding its air campaign against Tehran five days after its surprise attack on Iran's military and nuclear program.
