Apple wrapped up WWDC 25 earlier this week, and the very first developer beta of iOS 26 is now here. This early release gives developers (and the most impatient enthusiasts) their first hands-on encounter with features the company previewed on stage at Apple Park: a major redesign and AI upgrades for the iPhone software.

That string’s image has “~home.png” in it, a structure not used in other images, and could be in reference to the rumored upcoming home hub or “HomePad” device. If you want to be among the first to test iOS 18.

So, when can you see some of these changes for yourself? Betas for all of Apple’s platforms (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS and tvOS) went out on June 9 through the Apple Developer Program, while a public beta should roll out in July through the Apple Beta Software Program.
