Jason Momoa survived a harrowing near-drowning experience at Maui's deadly Jaws surf break after being rescued by a friend during brutal 10-foot Hawaiian waves.

Jason Momoa is opening up about a near-death incident that still haunts him to this day. The 46-year-old Aquaman star revealed on the latest episode of the Smartless podcast that he nearly drowned while on a surf outing off the coast of Maui, Hawaii, in 2007.

The actor says help from his ancestors and thoughts of his then 3-month-old daughter helped him win a battle for his life.
