If a gnarly body horror film that reads as an obvious metaphor for codependency sounds like it's up your alley, then writer-director Michael Shanks' feature debut Together may be your favorite new movie of the summer.

In “Together,” Thirtysomething couple Tim and Millie keep digging themselves deeper and deeper into a relationship rut, and neither can find a way to crawl out of it. Often at odds and out of step with the other, the attractive lovers inch toward a do-or-die inevitability, either break it off or just get married already.

In Together, Alison Brie plays a teacher named Millie who moves out of New York with her would-be-musician partner, Tim (Dave Franco), only for ominous things to start unfolding in the countryside where the two of them hope to start the next stage of their lives.
