A group of amateur detectorists are celebrating after their unlikely find of 600 medieval coins was declared treasure. The haul – believed to be the biggest found in decade – is worth £150,000.
The latest coins were minted in the autumn of 1642, the beginning of the English Civil War and just prior to the Battle of Aylesbury, which took place a few miles away at Holman's Bridge.
