The Boeing 787 Dreamliner that crashed while operating as Air India flight AI 171 had no history of technical faults, according to the airline’s chairman. In an interview with Times Now, N Chandrasekaran said the aircraft’s logs showed no red flags and that both engines were in reliable working condition.

Boeing has called the 787 Dreamliner its "best selling passenger planes" as it offers spacious cabins and large windows. However, multiple safety concerns have been raised in recent years.

The aircraft manufacturer has been under scrutiny for the last few years regarding safety after manufacturing issues caused two fatal crashes and other incidents.
