The "out of control" Wesley Ridge fire has grown to 511 hectares. Almost 400 properties are on evacuation order in the area. The B.C. Wildfire Service says it has had a "pretty successful" day setting up structure protection.

The property is among nearly 400 under evacuation order due to a nearby wildfire burning on the north shore of the lake. Instead of making their annual summer visit, Morton and her brother Kenneth are watching from their homes in Bella Coola and worrying whether the cabin will be saved.

The BC Wildfire Service says the Wesley Ridge wildfire on Vancouver Island has grown to more than 5 square kilometres as "numerous" fire dep.
