British Columbia's Conservation Officer Service says a grizzly bear has been found dead on Texada Island after Mounties told them someone reported shooting and wounding the animal.

The Tla’amin First Nation says community members and guardians were working on a co-ordinated relocation effort with two other First Nations before the bear was “illegally shot, maimed and killed.”
