A stretch of Loveland Pass in the Colorado high country remains closed after a landslide, but CDOT says the first stage of the cleanup effort is nearly complete.

Loveland Pass reopened Wednesday afternoon after a Sunday morning landslide shut down the section of U.S. 6 for days, according to CDOT.

"I am incredibly proud of our team's swift and dedicated work to safely reopen Loveland Pass after the recent landslide," said Jessica Myklebust, CDOT Denver Metro transportation director, in a statement.
