Coco Gauff called out what she said were unfair comparisons between her and Victoria Mboko after being stunned by the Canadian teenager at the National Bank Open. Top seed Gauff was blown away 6-1 6-4 in just 82 minutes to miss out on a place in the quarter-finals.

The defending French Open champion, Coco Gauff, bowed out to the homegrown Victoria Mboko in straight sets, 1-6, 4-6, in the round of 16 at the Canadian Open.

Mboko opened with a win over 79th-ranked Kimberly Birrell, then upset 23rd seed and former Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin before snapping Marie Bouzkova’s seven-match winning streak with a relentless comeback and taking down Gauff, dropping one set the whole way.
